The AWA Distinguished Service Award is given to honor truly exceptional service that greatly enhances the successful prestige of the Albuquerque Woodworkers Association.
Criteria
- The recipient shall be selected and approved by the Board of Directors.
- The award is intended to recognize the long term (three year minimum) effort by the recipient, but the Board may recognize shorter durations in exceptional cases.
- It is not necessary that an award be given every year. No more than one DSA should be awarded each year unless one of the awards is being given posthumously.
- Membership in AWA is not a prerequisite. A business or individual who has helped greatly may be considered.
Awards Committee
The awards committee shall be made up of the previous winners. The Chair of the committee will be the last person who received the award. They will invite the membership to send in nominations via email. The committee will select the winner and the board of directors will approve. The award is usually given at the October general meeting.
